PHASE 3 : PSS IDEA DEVELOPMENT
PREPARATORY PHASE (Phase 3 / Step 1) PSS IDEA DESIGN (Phase 3 / Step 2) ELABORATION OF RESULTS (Phase 3 / Step 3)
Objectives
The design team starts the design of the most promising PSS idea on the basis of the company’s strategic decisions and assessment outputs from the “Exploring Opportunities” phase.
The “PSS Idea Development” phase aims at developing the selected PSS idea from a general description and visualisation to a more precise version, and at evaluating and selecting the most promising design version for further development prior to being put on the market.
Involved
This phase foresees the involvement of the entire project team of people with the required competencies for the PSS idea development and evaluation, and representatives of the stakeholders potentially involved in the future PSS supply.
PSS idea design is a collaborative process coordinated by a project leader through which people are involved in different moments, depending on the competencies required, and work on common design tools (System Map, Offering Diagram, and Interaction Table).
Output
    • Stakeholder System Map: representations of the PSS system made up of stakeholders, flows and infrastructures involved in the PSS delivery
    • Offering Diagram: description and representations of the PSS basic and added-  value functionalities
    • Interaction Table: representation of different interaction modes through which the PSS is delivered
    • Sustainability Assessment: visualisation of the overall profitability and impact of the developed PSS idea
